Open letter in solidarity with metro workers in São Paulo

To: President of São Paulo Metro, Silvani Pereira,
We salute the metro workers of São Paulo, Brazil who on May 19, 2021 carried out a one-day strike for a fair contract and to defend labor rights. On May 28, the company shamefully retaliated against the workers by selling to private contractors the area where workers built their Union 30 years ago.
We demand you give the Union headquarters back to the workers. We demand that you cease all cuts to workers’ labor rights and real wages.
The world is watching you. The São Paulo metro workers struggle is our struggle.
