For months now, Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir has been the site of a massive social upheaval as a millions-strong movement has called for autonomy and economic relief from the dictatorial government of Pakistan, with massive solidarity rallies around the world. Beginning from the 5th of June, the Pakistani state resorted to massive repression committing massacres on peaceful protesters.
Following a surge in the movement in July, the movement reached new heights, with solidarity demonstrations around the world. The government’s repression also increased, cutting internet access to the region, brutally attacking protests and arresting organizers on false charges of terrorism.
