As from this month, there will be a new IWL-FI page on the Internet. It is a special webpage commemorating the 30 years of existence of the IWL-FI, founded in 1982.
The hot site will remain online during this year 2012 and will include historic documents regarding the foundation of the IWL and its sections, its development and the main discussions developed internally or with other trends of the world left, especially the Trotskyist trends. We shall also show videos and photo galleries apart from news on events promoted by the IWL sections during the year.
The webpage will be shown complete throughout the year, following the sequence of the events in the sections and the commemorations of diverse historic events. But the issue of “foundation” can already be visited where a brief history of the IWL-FI will be found, such documents as the Theses of the Foundation and a video in which Eduardo Barragan, leader of the Argentine PST and former member of the IEC of the IWL-FI tells us how our International was founded.
In March, taking advantage of the great feast that Ruptura/FER offered to advertise their split from the Left Block; we are showing how the Portuguese section of the IWL was built in the midst of the vortex of the 1974 Carnation Revolution until their new activity as an independent party, the MAS, founded in this same feast.
In April, the 1952 Bolivian revolution will celebrate the 60th anniversary and this will be a good opportunity to revive the great discussions that cropped up in the IV International in relation to this revolution.
We shall also discuss the revolutionary morals, oppression of women, bourgeois imperialism and nationalism, workers’ states – revolution and restoration – popular front… just to mention some important issues. We shall also show how the IWL sections in Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Spain, Central America, etc. were built.
This is the way we hope to cooperate with the education of new generations of Trotskyist militants and proletarian activists in this crucial moment when, more than ever, a world revolutionary leadership is so necessary. The IWL-FI adopted the slogan “For socialism and for the revolutionary International” for our banner of our commemoration and also proposes for the reconstruction of the IV International and for the socialist revolution.
Comrades are invited to visit our webpage, under the following address:
