Luis Barcenas, the former accountant of the ruling Popular Party – PP – (and until yesterday with his own office in its headquarter), had 22 million Euros in Switzerland. His lawyer has reported that he laundered 10 million Euros in the recent government’s tax exemption Act and has paid monthly bonuses of between 3000 and 10,000 euros for the PP top leaders for years.
To the legal theft that government loots the people and enriches the bankers, it is added now this illegal theft, the outright corruption. They are the same thieves who enrich with everyone’s money, which, under the command of the troika, have voted for brutal cuts in the 2013 budget. Those who have announced, breaking another promise, that will reduce retirement pensions. Those who have destroyed 2,000 jobs per day, finishing 2012 with more than 6 million unemployed (26.13%), 12 million poor people, 200,000 evicted families, wage cuts and rising prices (VAT, electricity, water, gas…).
Government and regime in crisis
But it does not stop at Barcenas, who is only the largest tip of the iceberg to date. We have Güemes, former Counselor of Health in Madrid, who came to the board of the multinational Unilabs, the same that has “bought” what he privatized. We have the president of the Community, Ignacio Gonzalez, who just reported buying a penthouse in Marbella, for a million euros, to a company set up in a tax haven by a figurehead. The dirty business of Urdangarín hits directly the King.

Corruption leaves no institution on its feet and outrage grows beyond the stratosphere. Corruption, which is inherent to capitalism, is accentuated in times of crisis as a means of capital accumulation, but now it emerges massively driven by the crisis of the regime.
The government and other institutions of the regime no longer have credibility. Recent surveys of Metroscopia show that 74% of people disapprove Rajoy and for 84% he inspires little or no confidence. In parallel, Rubalcaba (PSOE) rejection reaches 81%. The government loses social support every day and its crisis is increased as well. Allegations of corruption are enlivened by divisions between those from above.
Out with Rajoy, for a workers and popular outcome to the crisis!
It is necessary and possible to take this government out and defeat his plan of social war. For this we need to bring this demand to the demonstrations – demanding that “everyone must go” – unify the struggles and propose a joint program of emergency measures:
– Immediately suspend evictions and ensure housing for all homeless family, confiscating the mountains of homes from banks.
– Repeal all decrees of cuts and labor reform.
– Stop privatization, ensuring a 100% Public Health and Education.
– Suspend immediately the payment of the debt to the bankers and open a public audit.
– Imprisonment for the corrupt and corrupting and confiscation of their properties.
– Nationalization of the financial system without compensation.

For a Conference of Unions and Popular Organizations
It is necessary to take steps towards of coordination among militant trade unionism, social movements and the sectors in struggle, to organize the mobilization, to agree on an emergency program and open a way to construct an alternative government from below. To build together an alternative reference to the union bureaucracy of UGT and CCOO and their allies.
But at the same time, from each conflict, to defend that Rajoy and the governments of the cuts have to go and demand that opposition organizations, like IU, Bildu or ERC, and the bureaucracies of CCOO and UGT (seeking remake the “social dialogue”) themselves to be in the battle to take the government of scammers out.

Written by Corriente Roja Tuesday, 05 February 2013 03:09 In the end, as we say in the demonstrations, “it doesn’t lack money, but thieves abound.” The scandal is unprecedented.
