Educators and school workers labor under increasingly difficult conditions. The capitalist system places our schools under the daily stress wrought by neoliberal austerity, working-class poverty, gun violence, racism, pandemics, and political censorship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

School workers are leading struggles against the political and economic crises facing the working class as a whole. Teachers have been leading the fight to keep our schools safe from COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic. Educators and staff have carried out inspiring strikes in Minneapolis, Columbus, Seattle, Brookline, and around the country, often \u201cillegally,\u201d for improved teaching and learning conditions and racial equity. In the South especially, teachers and librarians are fighting for the basic right to teach about systemic racism and the rights of LGBTQIA+ communities and against right-wing censorship. Schools are key sites of resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please join us for this forum and discussion featuring panelists at the forefront of these struggles.
